General Artwork Instructions
Artwork must be bright and bold as our process will not "pick up" pale or faint colours. It is vitally important that you use the correct medium to produce your artwork.
To avoid unneccessary waste and disappointment we return unsuitable artwork unprocessed. However, as long as the basic instructions below are followed, successful results can be achieved by even the youngest in the group.
You may order multiples from the same artwork, as long as the item has the same template code.
eg.PJM could provide 2 mugs, 4 coasters and a dry-wipe memo board.
Keep artwork away from the edges and out of the corners of the templates – many are trimmed down during manufacture of products and we don’t want to cut off anything important. This especially applies to names and messages.
Do not damage any pre-printed border lines.
If it is not obvious which way round a picture should be, please indicate "top" on the reverse of the artwork – we’ve been known to print the odd picture upside-down – don’t forget that blue sky could also be blue sea!
Please ensure that the child’s name, group name, product and quantity are written on the back of each piece of artwork. If your group has a long name, then it is fine to use the initials to identify it. If you would like the items sorting into classes, please make sure that the class number or name is clearly and consistently marked on the artwork.
Use bright, bold colours – paints, felt-tips, flat collage materials, gummed paper shapes, marbling inks etc.
DO NOT USE PENCILS, PENCIL CRAYONS OR WAX CRAYONS
Important - GLITTER IS BANNED (it contaminates other artwork).
Please do not use faint, wishy-washy colours – the artwork is photocopied to produce transfers and pale colours do not pick up very well. The copying process also gives very odd results with metallics, including gel pens, and tones down the effects of fluorescents.
Do not expect an exact colour match. As it is a photocopying process, please bear in mind that if the artwork is messy, then the print will be messy – (we think this adds to the charm!)
To give credit where it is due, it is a good idea to add the child’s name and age or the date to the artwork. You may add your school logo to any template – just cut it out and glue it on. Certain items have very specific requirements for artwork. When this is the case,
you will receive those instructions along with the relevant templates. |
